Who We Are

Based in Wilmington, DE, Piceno LLC began operations in 2011 when its founder, Jack Polidori, decided to import wines from his family’s home province of Ascoli Piceno in the Marche, a bucolic region relatively unknown region to most Americans.

Located along the mid-central Adriatic coast of Italy, its vineyards are blessed with a long growing season while nestled between the Apennine Mountains to the west and the cool sea breezes to the east. Marche’s soils are endowed with highly mineralized clay soils comprising the north and south facing hills, thus allowing for the cultivation of both red and white grapes.

From the Marche, Piceno LLC has moved out to another 9 regions:  Marche, Umbria, Tuscany, Sardegna, Campagna, Basilicata, Sicily, Emilia-Romagna and Piemonte. A full list of our vineyards can be found under the “Our Vineyards” tab of this web site.

We emphasize both traditional and less known varietals and blends, but have made a special effort to find indigenous grapes from across Italy that are being grown by artisanal enterprises.

Our wines are available in the states of Delaware and Pennsylvania. Distributors in other states are urged to contact us for a tasting of wines in our portfolio. We also welcome wine distributors from other states for whom we can broker wines.
