Our Seasonal Wines

Please see our wine offerings for the Holiday 2024 season. These will be in effect through January 31, 2025. As mentioned previously, Piceno LLC has a new relationship with Liquid Culture, a Wilmington-based wine store located in the city’s waterfront district. The new relationship has allowed us to hold the line on prices.

Reach out to me via email ([email protected]) or phone (302-545-6406) to order. Trust that all of you are feeling well. Looking forward to seeing many of you this December.

Rosato Wines

***NEW
Il Vicolo – $17.50
Cantina dei Colli Ripani / Marche / 2023 Marche IGT

Delicious, Provence-colored pink with floral fruity notes. Clean and refreshing … wonderful apertif.

WHITE WINE

All whites, but one (for good reason) for under $20

Nature – $18.00
Collevite / Marche / 2023 Falerio DOC

Our old favorite in the antique bottle. Crisp, fuller-bodied Pecorino with wide ranging talents to accompany food.

I Croppi – $18.00
Celli / Emiglia-Romagna / 2023 Albana Secco DOCG

Award-winning Albana Secco grape from the food capital of Italy. It, too, its balanced fuller body, is a pleasant wine for all occasions.

Carricante – $19.50
Massimo Lentsch / Sicilia / 2023 Terre Siciliane IGT

Back by popular demand. A brilliant wine for fuller muscled fish like swordfish and tuna and also accentuates all of the shell fish and crustaceans.

Blues – $19.00
Paolo Cali / Sicilia / 2023 Terre Sicilane IGT

The crisp, clean pleasantly acidic front of the meal white wine that also pairs beautifully with grilled chicken and lighter fish such as sole, flounder, and shrimp.

Lavaflava – $18.50
Bosco de Medici / Campagna / 2023 Lacryma Christi DOC

Vesuvius-area Cappretone and Fallanghina blend, also crisp, that also goes with seafood but works equally well with poultry and pork, particularly when grilled.

Airales – $18.00
Vicara / Piemonte / 2023 Monferrato DOC

Refreshing northern Italian blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay (the French style in steel). If you love these varietals, you’ll love this wine.

Bianco Pomice – $22.50
Tenuta di Castellaro / Sicilia / 2022 Terre Siciliane

We likely will never offer at this price again. Award-winning from the windswept island of Lipari. Touch of oaked Carricante lovingly teases you at the start before the beautifully balanced Malvasia di Lipari asserts itself … a long white, if you will.

RED WINE

High kicking reds at $20 or just a bit above.

***NEW
Villa Piatti Trufo – $15.00
Collevite / Marche / 2023 Marche Rosso IGT

An entry level red wine … 100% Montepulciano for red sauce pasta and pizza. Basic down home red wine.

***NEW
Adesso – $19.00
Camparo / Piemonte / 2021 Langhe Rosso DOC

A lovely blend of classic northern Italian red grapes – 50% Nebbiolo, 25% Barbera, and 25% Dolcetto. Also, six months in French oak. Sophisticated lighter red with versality.

Manene – $20.00
Paolo Cali / Sicilia / 2021 Cerasuolo di Vittorio DOCG

Played previously to rave reviews. Another light to medium red … blend of Frappato and Nero d’Avolo. Only DOCG on the island … Cerasuolo di Vitorria. Great balance.

***NEW
Etna Rosso – $21.50
Massimo Lentsch / Sicilia / 2020 Etna Rosso DOC

From the ‘hot’ northern slope (figuratively, not literally) of Mt. Etna above the verdant valley between Randazzo and Castiglione. The Nerello Mascalese offers true sophistication. This terroir is tended by Emiliano Falsini (see below).

***NEW
Sopralago – $22.50
Bonsalto / Tuscany / 2021 Toscana Sangiovese IGT

For those who love a classic round and balance Tuscan Sangiovese this is your red. Bonsalto is an up and coming family vineyard outside the famous terroirs (like Chianti).

Leo Ripano – $21.50
Colli Ripani / Marche / 2020 Offida Rosso DOCG

This is the Offida Rosso DOCG from our home area … a beautiful, fruity, full-bodied blend of Montepulciano and Cabernet Sauvignon with 18 months in oak. It’s a ‘big boy’.

***NEW
Difesa – $24.00
Francesca Fiasco / Campagna / 2019 Paestum Rosso IGT

An amazing wine at this price. Blend of aglianico (35%), cabernet sauvignon (35%), barbera (20%), and only Bachus knows the other grapes (10%). French oak for 18 months. Light tannins … will age well and only 13.5% alcohol. James Suckling just gave it 95 points.

Diavolo e Vento – $32.00
Colli Ripani / Marche / 2019 Marche Rosso IGT

Hometown special … a Riserva in all but legal name. Marco Pignotti, longtime wine maker for Colli Ripani makes this for himself. Only 2,200 bottles per year. Yes, it is sun-soaked, fruity and full-bodied.

***NEW
Il Debbio – $35.00
Emilano Falsini – Tuscany / 2022 Tuscan Coast IGT

Emiliano is the traveling enologist for the vast majority of our vineyards. Now he is producing his own wines in the Bolgheri terroir in Tuscany. Amphora for 50% of grapes and small oak barrels for the other 50% … for ten months each. Only 2,500 bottles. Monica Larner from Wine Advocate gave it 92 points.
